Crystal Palace to beat Aston Villa

Palace have impressed yet again so far this season under Patrick Vieira, performing decently in a narrow 2-0 loss to a seriously on-fire Arsenal side before battling sensationally to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday in which they led at half-time. They take on Aston Villa on Saturday at Selhurst Park, who lost their opening away game of the season against Bournemouth and only beat Everton on the basis of how bad the visitors were a week later. At 8/5, the Frenchman will look to inflict further pain on former central midfield rival Steven Gerrard with a win that would see the Eagles leapfrog their opponents despite their tough start.  

QPR to beat Rotherham

Rotherham surprisingly occupy the top half after remaining unbeaten in their first two games, albeit they have faced strugglers Reading and underperforming Swansea in their opening two games. But against a sturdy QPR side who went within one goal from taking a point at Blackburn Rovers before dismantling Middlesbrough on the second game of the season, 23/20 represents a great price for a respected side to get their promising start off to a flyer against one of the league’s promoted outfits.  

Portsmouth to beat Bristol Rovers

‘Pompey’ are always a team that are billed to finish in the top two but never actually go up; a true great of English football that have been away from the second-tier for the best part of over a decade. Yet something feels different about the Blues this year. Danny Cowley’s men remain just one of five unbeaten clubs in the division and stand as joint-top scorers in the league with Colby Bishop looking to be an inspired signing. Coming up against an outfit that have lost their last two games away from home without even scoring a goal, 4/5 seems a superb price to add onto your accumulator.  

Exeter to beat Cheltenham

Exeter are this season’s surprise package so far after entering Gameweek 5 in the playoffs despite their promotion last season. The Grecians have been goal happy under Matt Taylor, and even beat the Robins 7-0 AWAY from home in the EFL Cup just a week ago. 7/10 to repeat the trick at St. James’ Park seems too good to be true.  

Rangers to beat Hibernian

Rangers’ 100 per cent record to start the season was heavily expected, although they face their first proper challenge away at Hibs as true credentials come to the fore in Edinburgh. Lee Johnson’s men are typically one of the bigger clubs in the division and have packed a serious punch for quite some time when it comes to taking scalps from the Old Firm. However, with the hosts having lost away at Livingston last time out and with losses to Morton and Falkirk in the League Cup, fans will be unexpecting of taking even a point – and Rangers’ 5/8 price does reflect any uncertainty.
