Attacking football appears to be the priority at both Brentford and Luton this term and their clash features in this Saturday BTTS Accumulator alongside FA Cup games at Cheltenham and Eastleigh where both the hosts and visitors are capable of scoring. The final selection involves a revitalised Hibernian playing a useful Kilmarnock team in the Scottish Premiership.
Although they have suffered six Championship defeats since the beginning of October, Luton are still contributing their fair share of goals having failed to find the net just twice during the same time period. A 2-1 midweek home win against Charlton ended a poor sequence of results but just one clean sheet registered since late August is a concern. As per their visitors, hosts Brentford are an attack-minded team but they failed to find the net on Wednesday despite registering sixteen attempts at goal during a 1-0 loss. Yet the Bees have netted three goals apiece in four matches since mid-October.
Having suffered just a single League Two defeat since the beginning of September, Cheltenham will be hopeful of further progression in the FA Cup ahead of hosting this second round tie. The Robins have also netted in every league game at Whaddon Road this term. Visitors Port Vale have recently regained their goal-scoring form, especially on the road with at least one scored in their last five away matches in league action. Vale also completed a 1-0 win against League One outfit MK Dons in the previous round.
Despite needing replays to overcome both Welling and Stourbridge in previous rounds of the FA Cup, Eastleigh will be optimistic for this second-round home tie. The National League outfit have lost just one competitive home match this term and have failed to find the net in only one league game from late August onwards. Visitors Crewe won 2-0 at Accrington Stanley in their prior cup game and have failed to net in only two league matches on the road this season including a weekend stalemate at fellow League Two top-three team Forest Green Rovers.
Having netted at least twice in their last five Scottish Premiership games, Hibernian will also be seeking a fourth successive league victory this month when hosting Kilmarnock. However, both teams have scored in the last nine competitive games featuring Hibs, and Killie will arrive at Easter Road aiming to extend their current good form in front of goal. Angelo Alessio’s players have failed to find the net in just one of seven previous league fixtures and beat Hearts 3-0 in their last match.
