Our shots on target tips give you a player to have 1+ or 2+ shots on target for the day’s biggest games, built from each player’s shots and SOT per 90 rather than guesswork.
Shots on target is one of the most stats-driven player markets in football — the players who shoot most are the players to back — and it’s a favourite bet builder leg. Below are today’s tips, what the market actually means, and how we pick our selections.
Today’s Shots on Target Tips
Here are our shots and shots on target tips for today’s football, updated daily. Each is built from the player’s shooting volume, their role, and the opposition they face.
PSG vs Aston Villa
- 01O. Watkins 2+ ShotsConfidence9/10
Why this bet
Twenty-seven shots at 3.32 per 90 is the highest rate of any player expected to start, and he takes them across a full 731 minutes. - 02O. Watkins 1+ Shot on TargetConfidence8/10
Why this bet
Fifteen on target from 27 attempts — a 56% accuracy rate and 1.85 on target per 90, both the best figures in the fixture. - 03K. Kvaratskhelia 2+ ShotsConfidence8/10
Why this bet
Seventeen shots at 2.99 per 90 with 59% accuracy, the most efficient finisher in the match. The PSG equivalent of Watkins.
Rangers vs Jagiellonia Białystok
- 01S. Lozano 2+ ShotsConfidence9/10
Why this bet
Twenty-three shots at 5.11 per 90 is the highest rate of any player in any fixture we have covered this season bar one. He adds 1.78 on target per 90 and 2.67 tackles. The caveat is 405 minutes rather than a full season. - 02T. Aasgaard 2+ ShotsConfidence8/10
Why this bet
Twenty-three shots at 3.28 per 90 across 631 minutes, with nine on target. With Chermiti out for the season, he is the Rangers attack. - 03D. Gassama 2+ ShotsConfidence7/10
Why this bet
Fourteen shots at 2.82 per 90 from 447 minutes, and he is also the most-fouled player in the fixture. Involved in everything Rangers do down the left.
Wolves vs Blackburn
- 01T. Cantwell 2+ ShotsConfidence8/10
Why this bet
Nineteen shots at 3.55 per 90 is comfortably the highest rate of any player expected to start. His 21% accuracy makes this a volume bet rather than a shots-on-target one. - 02Y. Ohashi 2+ ShotsConfidence7/10
Why this bet
Twenty shots at 2.43 per 90 with seven on target — the most complete attacking profile in the Blackburn line-up, and he adds 1.58 fouls per 90 on top. - 03A. Armstrong 1+ Shot on TargetConfidence7/10
Why this bet
Seven on target at 0.80 per 90 and 37% accuracy, the best conversion rate of any expected starter, across a full 783 minutes.
Bolton Wanderers vs Preston North End
- 01S. Dalby 1+ Shot on TargetConfidence7/10
Why this bet
Bolton's lone striker takes 2.13 shots per 90 and hits the target 0.78 times per 90 across 13 appearances. With Kenny, Burstow and Cozier-Duberry all unavailable, every ball into the box goes through him. These figures are from his own player page rather than the fixture tables, which cover a different window. - 02R. Rodrigues 2+ ShotsConfidence6/10
Why this bet
Nineteen shots at 2.55 per 90 is the highest rate of any player expected to start, but read the caveat below: Bolton's three biggest shot numbers all belong to players who have left or are benched.
Sheffield Utd vs Birmingham City
- 01P. Bamford 2+ ShotsConfidence9/10
Why this bet
Twenty-eight shots at 2.93 per 90 across a full 861 minutes, and he hits the target with 54% of them — the best accuracy of any player in the fixture. The most dependable attacking number on the page. - 02P. Bamford 1+ Shot on TargetConfidence8/10
Why this bet
Fifteen on target at 1.57 per 90 is nearly double any other starter. The shorter version of the same bet, and the safer one. - 03T. Cannon 2+ ShotsConfidence6/10
Why this bet
A fixture-topping 3.97 shots per 90, but from 385 minutes. CHECK THE CONFIRMED LINE-UP BEFORE BETTING — he is in the predicted eleven, but the rate rests on a part-season sample and he has not played a full campaign.
Confidence is our own rating out of 10, based on each player’s rate per 90 minutes across their last 10 games and the referee’s card average. 18+ only. Please gamble responsibly — GambleAware.org.

How We Pick Our Shots on Target Tips
Shots on target is one of the most predictable player markets, because shooting volume is stable and role-driven. We build every tip from:
- Shots and SOT per 90 — the player’s own shooting record. A forward averaging 4+ shots and 1.5+ on target per 90 is a far stronger 1+ SOT pick than one who shoots rarely.
- The role — central strikers, wide forwards who cut inside, and attacking midfielders who shoot from range get the most attempts. Penalty takers carry a built-in edge.
- The match-up — a shooter against a team that concedes lots of shots, or a favourite expected to dominate a deep-lying opponent, will get more chances.
- Game plan — players on set-piece and free-kick duty, and those who shoot on sight, over-deliver on shot markets.
We pull each player’s shots and shots-on-target-per-90 numbers into our stats widget for every fixture, so you can see exactly who the data points to before backing a shots tip.
What Does Shots on Target Mean in Betting?
A shot on target is any goal attempt that would go into the net if not stopped — meaning it’s either a goal or a save. In betting, shots-on-target markets let you bet on how many a specific player records. The common lines are:
- 1+ shot on target — the player must have at least one shot on target. Wins with one or more.
- 2+ shots on target — the player must have at least two shots on target.
- Over 1.5 shots on target — the same as 2+ (over 1.5 means two or more).
- Over 0.5 shots on target — the same as 1+ (over 0.5 means one or more).
So “2+ shots on target” and “over 1.5 shots on target” are the same bet: the player needs at least two on target for it to win.
Which Shots Count as On Target?
This is where a lot of shots-on-target bets are won or lost, so it’s worth knowing exactly what counts:
- Goals — yes. A goal is by definition on target.
- Saves — yes. A shot the keeper saves counts as on target.
- Penalties — yes, in most bookmakers’ rules a penalty that is scored or saved counts as a shot on target (check the specific bookmaker, as a small number differ).
- Headers — yes. A header on target counts the same as a shot with the foot.
- Blocked shots — no. A shot blocked by a defender before reaching the goal does not count as on target.
- Shots hitting the post or bar — no. A shot off the woodwork that doesn’t go in is not counted as on target by most bookmakers.
- Shots off target / wide / over — no.
Always check your bookmaker’s exact rules, as edge cases like penalties and deflected shots can vary between them.
Player Shots on Target Stats
Want to know how many shots on target a specific player has had, or who leads the Premier League? Live and season shots-on-target stats for individual players update throughout each matchday. Our player stats widget on each match preview shows shots and SOT per 90 for the key players in that fixture, which is the number that actually drives the tips above — see any of our bet builder tips for the widget in action.
Shots on Target in a Bet Builder
Shots on target is one of the most popular bet builder legs — a player to have 1+ or 2+ shots on target pairs naturally with an anytime goalscorer pick on the same player (correlated), or with a match result and total goals. See our bet builder tips for how we combine shots markets with the stats, and our yellow card tips for another stats-led player market.
Where to Bet on Shots on Target
Not every bookmaker prices player shots-on-target markets, and the lines and rules vary — so it pays to compare. The best offer 1+ and 2+ SOT markets on most starting attackers and integrate them into their bet builders. New customers can claim free bets to put towards our shots tips.
